Your final lab report for this class will be written as if it were to be published in the Journal of Organic Chemistry. The current edition of this journal is available online if you are on campus. Reading articles from these journals will give you a good idea of the content and style for writing scientific articles. You may also find helpful information on how to write a lab report, discussing theory and practice, in the linked webpage. The format of the document should conform to the info for authors posted by the Journal of Organic Chemistry. The Guidelines for Authors link on the page above will also be helpful.
Be sure to turn in a rough draft of your lab report on May 5 for the Tuesday lab section, or May 7 for the Thursday lab section. The final draft of your paper will be due on May 12 for Tuesday lab and May 14 for Thursday lab.
I’ve put together a template and bibliography file for LATEXusers. If you wish to submit your paper electronically, submit it in this form or in one of the other word-processor forms accepted by the Journal.
